What Does 'Chief Accountant' Mean?

The Chief Accountant is in charge of accounting for interest, insurance claims, payroll documents and preserves these accounts, solves problematic accounting cases, organizes and coordinates activities in accounting office, controls and preserves the general ledger, accounts for income tax, handles tax returns. Communicates with a tax adviser in resolving disputed tax cases. He takes care of work concerned to financial statements, statistical reports and participates in claims commission. Prepares and gathers documents for audit, prepares internal guidelines and instructions.
