What is a Corporate Recruiter?
A corporate recruiter is someone who specializes in recruitment and selection. He or she is mainly concerned with finding new employees.
The word 'corporate' is placed before 'recruiter' to make it clear that this recruiter works for one company. Within that company, this person is responsible for recruiting new employees.
The difference with a 'normal' recruiter is that he or she can also work for a recruitment agency . If someone has a job title of corporate recruiter, you can be sure that they are responsible for recruitment for one company. So if you are approached by a corporate recruiter, you know that he is looking for a position at the company where this person also works.
Activities of a corporate recruiter
The primary activities of a corporate recruiter consist of finding, approaching and selecting new personnel. Other activities include:
-
Writing vacancy texts
-
Conducting job interviews
-
Selecting promotional channels
-
Conducting salary negotiations
-
Guiding new employees
It obviously varies per company and sometimes per person which activities a corporate recruiter does or does not perform. Developing the employer branding strategy is now also regularly part of the corporate recruiter's duties.
