What is a Freelance Recruiter?
A freelance recruiter is someone who is hired by a company to recruit new employees. A recruiter who works on a freelance basis is usually paid hourly or receives a stipend when someone is hired. He or she is therefore not employed by the company.
A freelance recruiter is also called an external recruiter . Recruiters who are employed by a company are often called corporate or in-house recruiters .
Advantages and disadvantages of a freelance recruiter
A freelance recruiter can have advantages and disadvantages. The advantage for companies is that they are flexible and hopefully provide more good candidates. Many recruiters work on a ' no cure, no pay ' basis, so they only get paid if they actually provide a candidate who is hired.
The disadvantage of external recruiters is that they often prepare candidates extremely well for their application. They have a strong incentive to get a candidate into the company, because otherwise they will not get paid. As a result, as a company you cannot always properly assess whether a candidate actually meets the requirements.
